FAQ

Heating & Cooling questions, answered

Real questions we get, answered without the sales spin.

How long does an AC install take?+

A standard single-system swap is done in one day — typically 6–8 hours start to finish. New builds or multi-zone installs can span 2 days.

Heat pump or gas furnace — which is better for Houston?+

Heat pumps are the smarter pick for most Houston homes. Winters are mild enough that a modern variable-speed heat pump outperforms gas on efficiency and cost. Dual-fuel (heat pump + backup gas) is the upgrade.

What size system do I need?+

Sized by Manual J — square footage, insulation, window exposure, duct layout, and Houston climate data. We measure instead of guessing; oversized systems short-cycle, under-cool, and can't handle our humidity.

Is financing available?+

Yes — we partner with Wisetack and GreenSky for promotional financing on installs, typically 0% for 12 months or low APR for 5–10 years on approved credit.

Is it safe to run my furnace if the flame is yellow?+

No — a yellow flame means incomplete combustion and potential carbon monoxide. Shut the system off, open windows, and call (713) 689-0069. We'll do a CO test and combustion analysis before restarting.

Can you improve cooling on my second floor?+

Yes — usually a combination of duct balancing, return-air additions, attic insulation upgrade, or a dedicated mini-split zone. We diagnose before recommending.

Showed up on time, diagnosed a bad capacitor in ten minutes, and replaced it for a fair price. They didn't try to sell me a whole new system like the last guy.
